Watsons acts on behalf of land owners in obtaining the necessary Town Planning approvals for residential or commercial development, which includes rezoning of the land and planning permits for subdivision and development.
Our Town Planning and Urban Design team then prepare for our clients, a unique vision of the future development where the integration of residential, commercial and recreational uses comes to life.
Upon approval, the actual subdivision process is undertaken by our Surveyors who, in conjunction with our Civil Engineers, satisfy the requirements of Land Registration Services and Statutory Authorities to enable issue of the individual titles in preparation for the sale of the lots.
Our Project Managers supervise the operation of the company projects. They consult and monitor quality throughout the entire development process ensuring the clients’ wishes are never overlooked. At any time, our clients know that with one phone call they can speak to any member of the Watsons team regarding Town Planning, Surveying or Engineering as it affects their project.

Watsons Pty Ltd was first incorporated in Victoria as J S Watson Pty Ltd by its founder Jack Watson (pictured below) in September 1946.
From humble beginnings as a small local business, Watsons has grown to become the pre-eminent consultant to land developers across the Mornington Peninsula and the whole of Victoria.
Watsons’ clientele, past and present, includes many corporations such as Stockland, Evolve, Villawood, Satterley, Australand, Peet & Co, and A.V.Jennings, as well as household names such as Lindsay Fox and the Myer, Ansett, Baillieu-Myer, Hains, and Coles families.
In the last five years, the Watsons team of more than 40 dedicated staff, led by Director John Woodman, has produced an average of 1978 lots per annum as well as associated infrastructure works and other specialised engineering projects. This represents in the order of 20% of the 52,082 lots released to the market in Victoria for the period (2015 UDIA State of the Land Report).
